I Read, Therefore I Am

Call me an arrogant braggart or a snob oozing with braggadocio but I don't freakin' care.

No, I don't do ex-links. That's being pathetic. It's like begging alms on the streets when you're poised as that weirdo socialite whose fuckin' face is plastered on every lifestyle page of every Third World broadsheet available.

All the blogs in my blog roll are those that I peruse regularly and I don't normally tell these people I've added them in my list. I read them and that should be enough. I don't need to drop a synthetic "I read your blog" comment just so they could hop back to my blog site.

Which is, by the way, what most bloggers shamelessly do today - dropping by your blog and commenting a "Nice post, ex-link?" shit without even really reading what your post was all about. That's an in-your-face rudeness, if you want to know the truth. Heck, if you really want your blog to be read, then learn to read others' blogs honestly first.

I mean, a blogger - if he is, indeed, a genuine one - should not be pressed on adding some freakin' bozo's link just because he added you in his list. I believe there has to be reservations. There has to be a true acceptance of the link back not because he said so but because you think so. Not because this blogger added you in his list but because you think this blogger is worth adding in your list. It's not about the popularity, it should be about the content. Not the form, but rather the substance.

So yeah, scrap this reciprocity rule. If you'd like to see your link in my list, I'd suggest make me notice you - not by thickly dropping a "Nice post, ex-link" pseudo-comment but rather, by telling me  your thoughts. Write something worth reading - not merely posting a pathetic "I am the fuckin' eye of the fuckin' universe" shindigs just so you could post something in your blog.

In simpler terms, earn your spot in this blog roll!

There are over a million blogs out there posting the same yadda yadda clusterfuck and you'd do me and yourself and your would-be reader a favor by not counting your online domain in the stupid statistics. Until then, I will ignore your mere "Nice post" comment or it's "Dropping by, nice blog!" variation.
